Santiago has several places to look carefully, and one of those is the Concha y Toro neighbor. Located a few Metro Station away from the Downtown; is well know because it was meeting place for Reporters when we were under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
Old houses in a Parisian environment, surround the neighbor.

Were I live is a old neighbor with huge spaces likes squares and old and big houses. But no, there´s a lot of new buildings surrounding that house.
Now, there´s a lot of strip centers, supermarket and also homecenter and drugstores.
Also, since the new families arriving to those new buildings, there are schools and day care places.
Is quiet and close enough to take Metro, drive or use the surface transportation to go to work or other places of the city.
