The Metropolitan Park of Santiago is the city park (inside a city) Chile's largest and one of the largest in the world. A public service under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. The park has picnic spots where you can go with your family, different stops, where you can have a panoramic view of Santiago. Additionally, the park has the oldest zoo in Santiago and at the top of San Cristobal hill is the statue of the Virgin Mary, a place frequently visited by tourists, a place visited by John Paul II in 1987.
