This movie was filmed in the early 90s and tells the history of a teacher relegated by the militar goverment in Chile in the decade of the 80. This profesor was send to south of CHile to a small isolated village near to Puerto Saavedra, because he was involved in protest and labor unrest. In this place will have to survive to loneliness and melancholy, as it related to other characters like a lonely woman and diver looking for the secret of tsunamis. A film between the realistic drama and fable, away from political denunciation to go into topics such as personal utopias and affective relationships in a situation unusual. The soundtrack of the film, as well as photography are two of its most important features. La Frontera is a great movie not only for its aesthetic quality but because it relates a part of Chilean history that can not be forgotten, and because it is well told. It is a pride of the Chilean cinema.
